As the CW460 project seriously starts to take shape, signs are it’s causing a bit of a stir. Internet forums are chattering, e-mails are coming in thick and fast and I have had to increase the bandwidth of this website. Interest is at boiling point, which should be of no surprise to Kit Car magazine readers since I'm renowned for creating somerather special one-off machinery. Chapter seven saw the astonishing Raptor F85 in situ, complete with Tremec box, sidepipes and, of course, those amazing Image three piece alloys. This month’s chapter follows a selection of smaller jobs. Naturally, most have a twist ... well, what else would you expect with one of my builds?

High performance alloy radiator in situ

Radiator bottom fixings fabricated in my father's lathe to ensure perfect alignment

Top radiator mounts fabricated from aluminium strip

CW460 coming together. Those chassis stands make jobs such as fitting the radiator so much easier

Kenlowe 17 inch, two speed cooling fan

Kenlowe's kit comes with everything you need to complete the installation

Cooling fan in final position

Prior to fitting the scuttle, the demister system needs to be fitted

Next the wipers

Wiper system prior to installation

Marking the holes required in the scuttle to accomodate the wiper boxes

Fabricating spacers to ensure the wipers sit on the screen at the correct angle

Wiper drive spline holes made with a cone cutter

Wiper system in situ

On goes the windscreen. High quality component supplied by DAX

Centre tunnel is a straight forward installation, complete with hole for Tremec stick

First fit of dash, complete with cut-out for steering column

Powervamp high torque battery to ensure optimum cranking power for the Raptor F85

Complete with aluminium clamp - superbly fabricated

In goes the battery at the end of the passenger foot well. This unusual positioning is due to lack of space in the engine compartment

Routing the main feed to the starter motor

Tunnel ends made of carbon fibre. Material supplied by Carbon Mods, see Suppliers page for details

ECU tray mounted above battery

Re-chipped ECU and engine loom

Will the Raptor F85 start for the first time? You will have to wait until next month, but I guess the look on my face gives it away a little!
