The previous instalment of my CW460 mega-build saw the completion of its powerplant: a 4.6 litre V8 aptly named the Raptor F85. Utilising a considerable amount of bespoke hardware never before seen in the industry, would it fit? Well, almost ...

White van man for the day saw the Raptor F85 and Tremec T5 box picked up by yours truly from RPI Engineering in Norfolk. My baby was coming home at last!

Tremec T5 box as fitted to the Ford Mustang. Apart from being man enough to take some serious horsepower, the T5 weighs far less than the Rover and Land Rover alternatives due to an all alloy casing.

A rather expensive box of cogs.

The new home for the Tremec. Note the clearance holes in the side panels to accommodate the rather large casing.

Bell housing just fits in the modified Rush chassis.

Concentric clutch slave cylinder for the optimum pedal. Accurate set-up is essential.

Bespoke hydraulic clutch hoses made by Rally Design specifically for the CW460 project.

Huge 18 inch billet split rims from Image, the ultimate fast road alloy. Clad with Toyo rubber shipped in from China due to the exceptionally low aspect ratio not being available in the UK at the time.

Specially machined billet centres to provide clearance for the four pot Wilwood hardware.

Will the Raptor F85 fit? I bleeding hope so!

Well just, and I mean just.

T5 in its new home.

Engine bolted home with only a few minor mods.

Fathers do come in handy sometimes.

Yet another bespoke component for the project, a prop to connect the Tremec box to the Coswoth diff.

High performance DAX side pipes being bolted home. Polished stainless steel with internal catalytic convertors.

Adjusting the tail pipe angle prior to fixing.

Lambda sensors for the exhaust systems.

The Raptor in its new home.

Almost ready for the first start... watch this space for video footage. It will blow your socks off!
